Us digitals are well aware of Facebook’s continual efforts to dominate the web. Their latest attempt is to get you to set Facebook as your homepage (Remember when it used to be cool to prompt user to do this?).
Facebook recently rolled out the “Set as homepage” header. They use the terminology, “← Drag this to your home button to see what’s happening with friends as soon as you open your browser.” as their hook – A pretty good hook in my opinion.
It will be interesting to see how many people actually do set Facebook as their browser homepage. Personally, I won’t. And no, it’s cause I’m a search geek, I generally I don’t want to know what my friends are doing every time open my browser. It’s just too distracting. But seriously, how will Google’s homepage traffic be affected by this change? Only time will tell.
